Read THE GIVEN early -- Goodreads giveaway

Happy Monday, friendlies! Some fun news to start off the week: my publisher has teamed up with the good folks at Goodreads for a week-long giveaway of next month’s release, The Given, the final book in my Celestial Blues trilogy.

gr giveaway If you’d like an advanced copy and just can’t wait another month to see what happens to and between Grif and Kit, enter here to possibly win 1 of 20 copies. This contest is open to US readers only, so my apologies to my international readers and friends. I’ll see if I can’t rectify any disappointment with a giveaway of my own once I’ve received my author copies.

Also, you may notice that my site has a spiffy new look. I had a lot of material — and there’s a lot more coming — so I wanted to streamline and simplify, while making it easier for you to find what you’re looking for when you come to visit. Feel free to poke around and let me know if something’s not working for you, or if I can do something to make keeping in touch easier or more seamless.

Finally, below are the tour dates for The Given in case you missed them before. Be advised that my appearances are truncated this year. I’m currently world building — and am about to begin penning — a new series so this might be the last chance to meet up for awhile as I expect to be head down and awash in words for the foreseeable future. *

    Hi Vicki,

Yesterday was a long day, so just getting a chance to find and read all the new stuff here. It made me really miss your writing. (Which is, quite beautifully, precisely what you mention you love to read). This sentence alone perfectly captures everything you just said: about what it means to be a woman in a man’s world, the elements of world building, unflinching heartache (right?), and prose that can stop you in your tracks and make you see an old world in a new way: “Before the Mirage was built in 1989 it was pretty much a small town with a big, bright bulge in the middle, like a snake that’d swallowed a light bulb.” Just… *kryptonite* “I can still reach down past the glitter and the fast pace, and trace the remnants of that small town like the lines on my palm.” I love that so much.

The whole Vicki section is wonderfully filled with stories and tidbits. Some of it made me grin – like your Elvis impersonator story. :) I used to practice at the Elvis lip thing too. Annnnd just checked: yep, still got it. (phew!)

Also, what you said about your rituals and routine was inspiring and meaningful. Not to mention how beautifully stated was what you said about strong female protagonists.

I can’t wait to find out what happens in The Given, and I can’t wait to see you again!

Thank you for brightening my day, Vicki. Wishing you a Happy Tuesday!

    1. Thank you for replying, Tiff. I’m so glad the site is working for you. I think I told you over on Facebook how you brightened my day as well, but it bears repeating. Makes a girl wanna keep dreaming and writing.

      Best,
      Vic
